It seems that Chai is all the rage at the moment and has been for a few years now. Chai lattes are now commonplace among the cafe scene. I didn’t actually enjoy chai when I first had it years ago when I was a hard core coffee addict, but my tastes have changed since I now no longer drink coffee. I have always been a tea drinker and have quite a collection of various teas and herbal teas, but I was still wanting something a bit more. Because I had not originally enjoyed Chai I hadn’t even thought of trying it again, until the day I received the largest box of Byron Chai tea as a gift. I ummed and ahhed over it and then thought I should give it ago. It was a gift, so I shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
I am so glad I did decide to try it and have never looked back! It is such a lovely drink to have. Maybe the original chai I had was not a good quality one, but Byron Chai certainly is and has a great flavour. I particularly like that it contains low tannin and pesticide free black tea. I love making it on rice milk and adding a dash of maple syrup. I don’t need to wait til I’m at a cafe to have my chai latte hit, I can easily make it at home and relax and enjoy the flavours of the spices and know I’m getting the real thing and not some sugary syrup.
Have you given Chai a go?
I strongly suggest you try Byron Chai!
